Ravelle Flores

Hello! My Name is Ravelle and I’m an enamellist from Southern New Mexico. I taught myself how to enamel by reading books, watching YouTube videos many hours of practice. YouTube has been a great resource for me to learn pretty much anything and everything I’m interested in.  Enameling is a 3,000-year-old technique I have been practicing in a modern way. I use a kiln that heats up to 1600 degrees. I use sheet copper as my base and I counter enamel each piece for strength and durability.  The front side is kiln fired with 3-7 layers of powder glass depending on the look I’m trying to accomplish. Talk about a hot way to express art!!!! I love the bright colors and shapes and the unique way the glass melts. I also make my own sterling silver ear wires by torching the ends into a ball and then twisting to the desired shape. Jewelry has been such a wonderful expression of my soul that I can’t resist making it. Wearing a piece that makes you feel good is a great way to start the day and a great way to make one feel special and beautiful. I hope you enjoy what I’ve created with love, sweat, and many hours of practice and patience. Be safe out there.
